Hello, this is me - Daniel Sachsenmaier. I finally made it and created this blog I was working on since forever because I just could not finish it.
I just decided to finish it finally and here it is. This is my first article and I want to show you who I am and what I am doing.
I am a photographer based in Berlin, Germany which is not my main job. Most of my time I spend as a software engineer and the rest of the time I am taking pictures of things and persons.
I decided to create this blog to have a collection of my work as a photographer and to be more free in how I present it.
What I am doing as a photographer? I am really into portrait shooting, I love to work with people and taking pictures of them. I am always looking for people to take pictures with, if you are interested in having your portraits taken by me just ping me on Instagram. :)
In my opinion the best pictures are the ones taken without the person noticing it. That I love in taking portraits, the challenge of making it look like the person is not noticing the camera.
Other than "stalking" people and make the picture look as natural as possible I also do "real" portraits with friends or colleagues. Taking pictures and editing them afterwards to see what you can get out of a RAW image is really fun. The next two pictures are showing the state before the edit and after the edit - amazing right?
Another thing I am really into is street photography. This field is still new to me because I discovered it just a few weeks ago. Living in Berlin is perfect for street photography because there are always people in the streets and a lot of interesting situations to capture.
So this is what you will see here mostly:
- Lots of pictures of people, either spontaneous or real planned portraits
- Shots in urban places with people in nice moody edits
- Also some before and after pictures as shown above - maybe step pictures as well where you can see the different steps I do while editing.
- Like I said already, I want to use that blog to be more free in presenting and showing what I am doing with photography or in my daily life.
- I am also thinking about doing videos to show how I edit or giving some (hopefully) helpful tips about photography and about getting better in photography.
If you are into one or more of the points above, this is for you and I would be more than happy to have you as a returning reader. :)
Cheers
Daniel
